Aurore Damant’s “Un ukulélé pour Junior”
Wow, Aurore’s terrifically illustrated children’s book is spot on, though admittedly I’m judging this book solely by its cover (sadly parlez vous francais not). I’ll wager anyone living with a new uker can relate to these sketches of life with one newly afflicted with “ukuitus”.
Junior only handles the ukulele in a very original manner,
having nothing to do with the traditional way.
He could just play this little pest,
but prefers using it for everything else
Google’s translation gives you the gist: to tame their wild child, junior’s parents buy him a ukulele — which he uses in every manner of creative, noisy merriment — every way, that is, except playing music.
